On April 13, at the initiative of Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Uruguay Ruben Abrahamyan and Prelate of the Diocese, Father Hagop Archbishop Glnjian, a crowd of Uruguayan-Armenians held a rally at Freedom Square of Montevideo to condemn Azerbaijan’s atrocious actions against the civilians and the positions of border guards of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

The community also expressed its solidarity with the Armenian army and expressed its condolences to the families of the victims, as reported the Armenian community of Uruguay to Hayern Aysor.

Among the participants of the rally were Uruguayan state officials. The participants gave speeches and handed out explanatory flyers in Spanish.

Under the leadership of the Consul and His Holiness, the representatives of the community, including Arpin Hojajanian and Benjamin Kemanian, had meetings with Uruguay’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation and representatives of the Embassy of France.
