Hundreds of Swedish-Armenians expressed their solidarity with Artsakh

On April 12, the Armenian community of Sweden held a peaceful march of protest to pay tribute to the soldiers and civilians who were killed as a result of the four-day war provoked by Azerbaijan. This is what President of the Coordinating Center of Armenian Associations of Sweden Karlen Mansuryan told Hayern Aysor.

“There were over 500 Swedish-Armenians from Stockholm, Uppsala, Södertälje and Vesteros. With the national flags of Armenia and Artsakh, signs and calls for protection of Armenians’ rights, we began the march from the  Kungsträdgården Square of Sweden and reached Mynttorget Square. We had chosen that square since it passes by the building of the Government of Sweden. It was an appropriate occasion to make the relevant authorities hear our voice and take steps to prevent Azerbaijan’s aggression,” Karlen Mansuryan said.

Among the active participants of the march were young Armenians, the unions, societies and associations of the community, the Armenian National Committee, the church council and other structures and organizations. Spiritual pastor of the Armenians of Scandinavia, Vicar of the Patriarchal Delegate, Father Archimandrite Yeghishe Avetisyan gave his blessing to the Armenians of Sweden. Throughout the march, the participants were accompanied by representatives of Swedish presses.

The march for support to the Armenians of Artsakh ended with performances of Armenian national songs.
