On April 8, a Requiem Service was performed for the souls of the soldiers and freedom fighters killed during Azerbaijan’s attacks and, in general, the souls of all Armenian martyrs to rest in peace at the St. Nerses Shnorhali Church of Dohuk in Iraq, as Aig Bedrosian-Hagopian reported to Hayern Aysor.
Spiritual pastor of the Armenian community of Dohuk, Father Priest Massis Shahinian performed the ceremony of the land and conveyed a patriarchal wish.
At the end, the “Shnorhali” class of scholars performed “Mer Hairenik” Armenian national anthem for the faithful attending the church.
“I am in distress, but I am more than satisfied. Our nation showed the world once again that Armenians are invincible. Artsakh has always been and will be an Armenian land,” Father Priest Massis Shahinian told Hayern Aysor and addressed Armenian mothers, adding: “May your sons be in the kingdom of God. Stay strong! Thanks to you, today we have a free and independent Armenia and Artsakh. Bless you.”
Father Priest Massis Shahinian also stated that in spite of the instability, the Church tries to do everything it can to teach the youth Armenian language and history, organizing many courses and events throughout the year.
Glory to Armenia parents! Glory to Armenian soldiers! I respect you.
