RA MD: Tension escalates on Armenia-Azerbaijan state border zone

Last night and this morning, armed resistance escalated tension in the northeastern sector of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border zone in the direction of the Berdavan and Koti residences of the Tavush Province of the Republic of Armenia. The Azerbaijani party shot at Armenian border guards and residences with types of rifles of different diameters, as well as 60mm and 82 mm mortars.
The opponent’s activity was suppressed as a result of the response operations of the frontline subdivisions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. Contractual soldier Zory Ashrafyan (born in 1983) received a splinter during the crossfire.
Showing restraint, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia continue to control the situation on the border with confidence, reports the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
