President to meet with Armenian American scholars

RA President Serzh Sargsyan will soon meet with Armenian American scholars at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

This is what the President said in his speech at the University of Cyprus on March 16.

“In a couple of days, I will be visiting the United States, and among other events, we will hold a big meeting with the students of the Luys Foundation and Armenian American scholars at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, providing them with the opportunity to communicate with each other and establish academic and professional contacts and partnerships,” the RA President said.

“Joining the Bologna Process in 2005, Armenia established a platform for new opportunities for cooperation with the European territory and gained new mechanisms to best apply the international experience. In this sense, I am pleased with the fact that the Dilijan International School is operating in Armenia as part of the Unified World Colleges educational network. Dilijan International School brings together 100 students from nearly 60 countries around the world,” the RA President mentioned.

Serzh Sargsyan said there were only 8 citizens of Armenia enrolled in the top 20 universities of the world at the moment of the launch of the Luys Foundation’s educational program.

“Over the past eight years, over 200 Armenian students have graduated from the top 10 universities of the world. Currently, over 100 Armenian students are enrolled in those universities,” the President said.
