RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan receives Director of Armenian Community for Armenian Students Foundation Artavazd Yakhshibekyan

On March 10, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Director of the Armenian Community for Armenian Students Foundation Artavazd Yakhshibekyan.

The guest presented the current state of the Foundation established in 2006 and mentioned that it continues to stay true to its mission statement, that is, to help ensure the ongoing education of outstanding and socially active students of Armenian universities by providing them with nominal scholarships. The Foundation is sponsored by highly reputable Diaspora Armenians who have achieved success with their academic and professional activities. Besides providing nominal scholarships, the Foundation’s sponsors also work actively for the growth and advancement of the future professionals. Overall, 218 students have been granted nominal scholarships. Currently, 32 students have scholarships. The students of the universities of Artsakh, Goris and Gavar also receive the scholarships.

Positively assessing the Foundation’s activities, Minister Hranush Hakobyan praised the Foundation’s sponsors, including chairman of the board of trustees Robert Yengibaryan, Bagrat Alekyan, Mnatsakan Gasparyan, Sergey Avagyan, Aramayis Kamalov and Levon Piruzyan (whose family continues the tradition after Levon’s death), considering their efforts one of the best ways of showing the love for and devotion to the homeland. According to the minister, such activities also help strengthen the bond with the homeland.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed the opportunities for enlargement of the Foundation’s activities.
