Artsakh has imported mulberry tree seedlings from Syria

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic has declared horticulture as one of the major directions of its policy. To develop this branch of economy, the ministry had decided to import high-quality seedlings of several types of fruits with the help of the government. And now, within the scope of development of horticulture, Artsakh has already imported 20,000 seedlings for mulberry trees from Syria. This will allow Artsakh to refresh the mulberry gardens in the Republic and grow mulberries.
As Minister of Agriculture Aram Mkhoyan mentioned, this is a state program, and the seedlings for mulberry trees will be gratuitously distributed to farmers who, in their turn, must be careful and take good care of the seedlings. As reports aparaj.am, the program will be ongoing, that is, new seedlings will be taken from some mulberry trees and will be bred with the purpose of refreshing the mulberry gardens from time to time.
Besides the mulberry trees, Asmaryan Green Land CJSC has also imported seedlings for one-and-a-half dozen other types of fruit trees (apple trees, pear trees, plum trees, almond trees, fig trees and different types of pomegranate trees, as well as seedlings of pistachio, kiwi and industrial roses that are not very traditional in Armenia), some of which are not traditional in Armenia. The sorts imported for traditional types of fruits are new in Armenian agriculture.
Those wishing to obtain the imported seedlings can contact Asmaryan Green Land. Let us add that in this greenhouse economy the seedlings will be bred and provided to farmers who can provide the crops to those reprocessing crops across the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
