Turkish-Armenian MP raises issue of Armenophobia in Turkish parliament

A debate over discrimination against nations sparked in the Turkish parliament. As reports Haberturk, Turkish-Armenian Deputy and member of the pro-Kurdish oppositional Democratic Party of Nations (HDP) Garo Paylan showed the photo of a sign on the wall of a building reading “Worthless Armenians”/ Ermeni piçleri).
“Unfortunately, security forces aren’t the only ones doing this. In Bingiol, the Prime Minister said the following: “Armenian bandits collaborated with the Russians during the First World War.” Today, both the Turks and the Kurds are members of ISIS (İŞİD). Now, if I say ?Turkish bandits’, will that be discriminatory? Can we do this? The Prime Minister is also overtly discriminating,” the Armenian Deputy said, as reports ermenihaber.am.
Vice-president of the parliamentary group of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Naji Bostanji counterattacked and said Paylay was actually the one showing national hatred. “The Prime Minister has books and speeches, and his words are clear. He has never shown any hatred against any nation.”
Vice-chairman of the parliamentary group of the oppositional Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Oktay Vural declared that Paylan had no right to refer to the Turks as “criminals”.
Let us remind that the photo that Paylan presented was taken on the streets in the Silop district of Shirnak state located in southeastern Turkey. What especially attracted attention was the writing “Worthless Armenians” (Ermeni piçleri) on the background of the bad look and on the walls of buildings in the residence that has become accessible after a long curfew hour.
