Romania hosted events dedicated to Sumgait pogrom

The Holy Archangels Armenian Church of the Armenian Diocese of Romania held a requiem in memory of the victims of Sumgait massacres. The requiem was attended by Armenia’s Ambassador to Romania Hamlet Gasparian, as well as Chairman of the Armenians’ Union of Romania, senator Varujan Vosganian.

After the requiem, led by spiritual leader in Romania Bishop Tatev Hakobyan, the attendees laid flowers at the church yard, near the crossstone, dedicated to the victims. Holly liturgy in memory of victims of massacres against Armenians in Sumgait was served in Pitesti city, in the Armenian community of Romania, at the end of which a requiem was served in memory of the victims.

The requiem was served near the cross-stone dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide victims.
