“Armenian children speaking in Armenian are the guarantors of the great future”

On February 21, the “Hayordats Toon” ArmenianSchool of Moscow held three events dedicated to International Mother Language Day. Yeranuhi Ghazaryan conducted an open lesson for the 2D classroom, reports the information center of “Hayordats Toon” to Hayern Aysor.

“I must mention that this is not a demonstrative class. All of our lessons are open and interactive lessons,” Yeranuhi Ghazaryan said as she addressed the attending teachers.

The students, who didn’t even know a word in Armenian a year ago, shared the knowledge that they had gained in their course of studies during the lesson. They formed compound words, translated unfamiliar sentences from Russian into Armenian, asked the attending teachers questions in Armenian and reedited famous Armenian fairy tales on the spot.

The attendees followed Yeranuhi Ghazaryan’s method of presentation and listened to the students’ answers with attention and admiration. At the end of the lesson, spiritual leader of the “Hayordats Toon”, Father, Priest Arakel Amiryan and Director Hmayak Gevorgyan expressed their satisfaction with the students and the teacher for their love for and admiration of the Armenian language.

On International Mother Language Day which, according to tradition, is celebrated at the “Hayordats Toon” ArmenianSchool on the sidelines of the month-long events dedicated to the Mother Language, Armenian language teacher Armine Martirosyan delivered a lecture on “Notable Foreign Armenologists”. During the lecture, the attendees were introduced to foreign experts in Armenian and their studies on the origin and significance of the Armenian language.

Since Armenians need to feel the love for and devotion to the Armenian language at an early age, Alvina Hovhannisyan’s preparatory class recited poems devoted to the Armenian language and touched upon the significance of the Armenian alphabet in preservation of the Armenian identity. During the event entitled “Your Centuries Will Come In Armenian”, Lena Beglaryan’s Shogher Children’s Choir charmed the audience with its exceptional performances. The event ended with Lena Beglaryan’s song called “Your spring comes in Armenian” based on the homonymous poem by Hamo Sahyan. After the performance, the children held signs and assured that “the centuries will ?come’ in Armenian’ with certainty.

Father Arakel Amiryan conveyed the blessing of leader of the Diocese, Father, Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan and mentioned that Armenian children speaking in Armenian are the guarantors of a great future and that, through them, we are fulfilling our duty to Mashtots, Sahak Partev and Khorenatsi.
