Armenian government allocates AMD 100 mln to send more books to Armenian schools abroad

The Government of the Republic of Armenia has allocated AMD 100 million to deliver textbooks to 350 daily and over 600 one-day Armenian schools abroad this year.

As reports “Armenpress”, the decision was taken during the government’s February 11 session. RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan mentioned that AMD 73.5 million would be allocated for textbooks, and AMD 6 million would be allocated to create new educational materials. Sums will also used to obtain electronic materials, deliver books by mail and transfer cargo.

In response to a question from RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, Hranush Hakobyan mentioned that Armenian schools of the Diaspora don’t lack books since nearly 50,000 books have already been delivered to them. Currently, the RA Ministry of Diaspora is working on making additions to the list of electronic books for Armenian schools abroad.
