Saint Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Mother Cathedral included in official list of tours in Buenos Aires

By the decision of the Municipality of Buenos Aires, the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Mother Cathedral of Buenos Aires, which is located in the Palermo District, has been included in the official list of city tours, as posted on prensacentroarmenio.com.ar, according to Hayern Aysor.

Tourists will be guided by specially trained tour guides whose goal will be to provide the tourists with comprehensive information through visits to the city’s historic and cultural monuments, as well as parks, theaters and museums.

By including the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Mother Cathedral in the program, the organizers wanted to emphasize the role of the Armenian community in Buenos Aires, which has had a huge impact on life in the city.

To gather information about the Mother Cathedral, the tour guides engaged in the program visited the Armenian Church and had a meeting with leader of the Armenian Diocese of Argentina and Chile, Archbishop Gisak Mouradian, after which the spiritual leader gave the guests books devoted to the Armenian Church.

Let us add that in 2010, the Legislature of Buenos Aires proclaimed the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Mother Armenian Mother Cathedral as a historic monument. Consecrated in 1938, the Church has been included in the list of major cultural values of Argentina.
