Meeting with Varujan Vosganian Author of “Book of Whispers”
The Armenian Romanian poet-author-politician and president of the Armenians’ Union of Romania Mr. Varujan Vosganian will speak at Abovian Centre about his book and other Armenian issues. He is in the Netherlands on the occasion of the publication of his “Book of whispers” (original title: Cartea soaptelor) in Dutch. The author will also sign copies of his book.
The “Book of whispers” is translated in more then 10 languages. The book describes the life of Armenians in and around Romania during the moving and eventful 20th century.
In 2015 Abovian Association participated in the event of “Worldwide Reading”, with a recital of the chapters of the “Book of whispers” related to the Armenian Genocide by the Dutch translator Jan Willem Bos on the occasion of 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The German weekly Der Spiegel compared “Book of whispers” with the works by Nobel prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
