On December 5, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia received the delegation led by Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Kuwait and the nearby areas, Father, Supreme Archimandrite Masis Zobvian, which include representatives of the National Department and Assembly of Delegates of the Diocese, as posted on the Facebook page of the Catholicosate of Cilicia, according to Hayern Aysor.

The delegates informed the Supreme Patriarch that their hard work had helped them purchase a building that offers wide opportunities and that the Church and the Armenian Prelacy would be located within that building.

Let us inform that for many years, the Church and the Armenian Prelacy was located in a building, the owner of which had lawfully made them return the territory. That is why the National Department was forced to purchase another building for the Armenian Church and the Armenian Prelacy.

Today, the Diocese has become the owner of a new territory that was purchased for 735,000 Kuwaiti Dinars (USD 2.4 million). The Diocese will need 150,000 Kuwaiti Dinars (half a million dollars) to design the interior and furbish the territory. The Diocese must fulfill its obligation before February 21, 2016.

The Supreme Patriarch expresses his deep appreciation and praised the National Department of the Diocese for this major achievement. The Supreme Patriarch stressed the importance of becoming the owner of the territory of the Church and the Prelacy and voiced hope that the Armenians of the Diocese of Kuwait and the nearby area, as well as the Armenians of the Arab Gulf and the Kuwaiti-Armenians who used to reside in other regions will show their active participation in making expenses for purchasing and furbishing the mentioned territory.
