Syrian-Armenians’ shoe company receives special award

RA Ambassador to Germany Ashot Smbatyan participated in the New Silk Road Awards organized by Business International in Berlin, reports the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The awards are organized for representatives of German and other foreign small and medium businesses who have made great contributions to the strengthening of business relationships in Europe and Asia.

Several Armenia companies were nominated for the grand award at the first ever New Silk Road Awards, including Termorex, Ava Shoes, Elbat and Unitransfer. The jury granted the special award to Ava Shoes, which is a small shoe factory established by Syrian-Armenians having returned to Armenia. Throughout its short existence, the shoe company has been able to establish contacts with many partners in the global market.
