Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Toronto local chapter held its annual fundraiser-banquet at the Armenian Community Center in Toronto. The event brought together more than 330 supporters and officials, reports the Department of Public Relations of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.

The fundraiser raised $585,000 dollars in donations. The proceeds include the sum paid for famous soccer player Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s jersey sold for $20,000 dollars in an auction held during the event.

According to the press release, Meguerdich Meguerdichian announced that the Toronto local chapter will use the donations to carry out four new projects in Artsakh, including the construction of two community centers and homes for two large and insecure families. The Toronto local chapter’s fundraiser continues, and Meguerditchian voiced hope that there would be more donations before the day of the Telethon, which is set for November 26^th.
