Georgian-Armenian community holds Javakhk-2015 fall camping event

The Armenian Community of Georgia held the Javakhk-2015 fall camping event on the weekend with the support of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia. Thirty representatives of the Junior and Youth Substructures of the Armenian Community of Georgia visited Javakhk where they were introduced to the natural and historical sites and, most importantly, they established contacts with the local youth, reports the Armenian Community of Georgia to Hayern Aysor.

The number of the participants doubled on the very first day of the camping event. The Armenians of Tbilisi were joined by members of the Junior and Youth Unions adjunct to the Youth Centers of Akhalkalak and Ninotsminda, as well as members of the Zori Zoryan Youth Union. The youth of Tbilisi, Akhalkalak and Ninotsminda carried out all the programs together.

During the Javakhk-2015 camping event, the participants visited the Youth Centers of Ninotsminda and Akhalkalak, Lake Parvana, the sites worth seeing in Akhalkalak and Ninotsminda and took part in a one-day trip to the historic Tmkaberd Fortress.

“There were many events. The schoolchildren and youth of the Armenian Community of Georgia spent unforgettable days in Javakhk. On the first day, we visited Lake Parvana, which is the largest lake in Georgia, had cognitive meetings and discussions at the Youth Centers of Ninotsminda and Akhalkalak. The evening of the first day was devoted to culture. We lit a bonfire in the yard of the Youth Center of Ninotsminda. The youth of Tbilisi and Javakhk sang, danced and established contacts…On the second day, they took a trip to Tmkaberd Fortress.

Early in the morning, we exercised and ran on the streets of Akhalkalak, after which we headed towards Tmkabert Fortress. The trip was quite difficult, and that’s good. Aspiring and overcoming the difficulty together helped the youth of Tbilisi and Javakhk strengthen their relations. At Tmkaberd, we organized many games and discussions…In the evening, we returned to Akhalkalak, bid the hospitable citizens of Javakhk farewell and headed home.

It’s safe to say that the Javakhk-2015 camping event was a success. We achieved our goals, that is, to show Javakhk to our youth and, most importantly, help our youth and the Armenian youth of Javakhk establish friendly contacts,” correspondent for the activities of the youth substructures of the Armenian Community of Georgia Artur Mirzoyan said in an interview with “Miutyun”.

“We attach great importance to the establishment of friendly relations between the youth of Tbilisi and Javakhk. We live in the same country, and this means that we face the same challenges that we need to overcome together. It’s very important for the Armenians of Georgia to stand united as one. Only through unity will we be able to overcome all the difficulties and play a weighty role in Georgia’s advancement,” said leader of the Armenian Community of Georgia Samvel Mkrtchyan.
