RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received participant of the 5th Euro-Caucasian Congress of Cardiology, surgeon from the Center for Heart and Breast Surgery in Monaco and Professor Armand Eker, who is of Armenian descent.
Greeting the guest, the minister appreciated Eker’s participation in such a major event, his contributions to the development of cardiology in Armenia and attached importance to the role of professional forums, congresses and conferences in the consolidation of the potential of the nation. The minister mentioned that such events lead to the creation and implementation of new programs, pave new paths for cooperation and create new opportunities for the exchange of experiences.
Armand Eker praised the achievements that Armenian cardiologists have made in the field of cardiology and particularly in the field of surgery and mentioned that, in 2011, he established the “Heart of Monaco to Armenian Children” charitable organization in Monaco and that Prince Albert is the honorable president of that organization. The latter closely collaborates with the Red Cross of Monaco and has planned to transfer 10 children with heart problems from Armenia to Monaco and perform surgeries. The organization has already transferred 11-month-old Elen from Armenia and has successfully conducted her surgery.
Attaching importance to such initiatives, Minister Hranush Hakobyan, who collaborates with the Minister of Health, promised to solve all issues related to organization.
The sides also touched upon the issues related to the small Armenian community of Monaco. Armand Eker mentioned that a cross-stone dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was going to be transferred from Armenia to Monaco soon.
The guest expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and cooperation.
