5th Euro-Caucasian Congress of Cardiology kicks off

On September 11, the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the RA Ministry of Health and the Health Action Armenia-France organization launched the 5th Euro-Caucasian Congress of Cardiology, which has brought together more than 50 renowned foreign and Diaspora Armenian cardiologists from France, Monaco, Great Britain, Lebanon, Russia, Syria, Iran and Georgia, as well as nearly 200 experts from Armenia and Artsakh.

The purpose of the congress is to help enhance the field of cardiology, consolidate the potential of Armenian cardiologists around the world, contribute to the cooperation between cardiologists from the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian Diaspora and Artsakh, as well as help them raise the level of their professionalism, improve their professional qualities and exchange their experiences.

The Euro-Caucasian Congress of Cardiology has been held once every two years since 2007. The previous three congresses (2009, 2011 and 2013) have been organized by the RA Ministries of Diaspora and Health. The congresses have highly contributed to the strengthening of cooperation between cardiologists of Armenia, Artsakh and the Armenian Diaspora and the exchange of international experiences. The “Euro-Caucasian Congress of Cardiology” was created in 2009.

The president of the Health Action Armenia-France organization is French-Armenian cardiologist Avedis Madigian. In 2010, the organization established the French-Armenian Center for Cardiology in Goris, which plays a major role in the solution to several issues related to healthcare in Armenia, particularly in the Syunik Province.
