Twins were checked out of the Mother and Child Health Maintenance Center of Stepanakert today with the help of the “Aragil” charity fund.
As Artsakhpress reports, Mher and Kristine Musayelyan, who live in Stepanakert, now have two children, Alex and Alen after waiting for nine years. First Lady of the Republic of Armenia Rita Sargsyan, who sponsors the “Aragil” charity fund, was attending the ceremony.
“When we launched this program, many didn’t believe there would come a day when it would become a success. Today, 100 children have been born, and another 150 will be born before spring. Now, we will have 250 children, and this will be “Aragil”’s response to all the Erdogans out there,” said Rita Sargsyan.
In his speech on the day considered historic, Minister of Health of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Harutyun Kushkyan mentioned the following: “The NKR Ministry of Health is ready to carry out activities within the framework of such programs in the future.
The Mother and Child Health Maintenance Center is in collaboration with “Aragil” charity fund, and the brilliant results are evidence of that collaboration.”
“Today, we have 1,500 registered couples, of which 500 are referred to different centers. Out of all the mothers, 352 are no longer menstruating. Out of the 352, 148 have recorded pregnancies, and 74 have given birth. We now have 102 children, and we’re expecting another 45 in the next two to three weeks. The overall level of efficiency is 40 percent, which corresponds to the global indicator. Of course, this is symbolic in that the 100th child and the 101st child were born in Artsakh, symbolizing the renaissance of Artsakh,” medical expert of “Aragil” Charitable Foundation, Professor Karine Tokhunts added.
According to Director of “Aragil” charity fund Susanna Gabrielyan, “several couples have been able to feel the joy of becoming a parent through the “Aragil” charity fund for the assistance of reproductive medicine, and hundreds more are waiting for their turn.”
“Today, there are 66 mothers with infertility in Artsakh, of which 18 have become impregnated through the program. Two will have twins, and one will have a triplet,” Director of the Mother and Child Health Maintenance Center V. Osipov said and added that the cooperation that began with “Aragil” charity fund in 2013 would be ongoing. After the ceremony, the RA First Lady surprised the mother in labor and the newborns.
