Aram Ateshian leaving for Antelias to participate in Muron blessing ceremony

This weekend, Vicar of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, Archbishop Aram Ateshian will visit Antelias to participate in the Muron blessing ceremony to be performed by His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, reports “Armenpress”, according to Zhamanak Armenian newspaper of Istanbul.
According to the Armenian newspaper, Aram Ateshian’s visit is interesting in that there are certain disagreements between Antelias and the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople.
“Although neither of the sides wants to raise issues about that, it’s clear that the Holy See of Constantinople had reservations in relation to His Holiness Aram’s action for the return of the Catholicosate of Sis. The concern of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople was mainly linked to the fact that Antelias hadn’t maintained any contacts with the Patriarchate before the lawsuit was filed. In this situation, the participation of His Holiness Aram I and Archbishop Aram Ateshian may become an opportunity to discuss the issue,” writes Zhamanak.
