Famous Turkish filmmaker Ismail Gunes has started shooting the film “Caravan 1915”, which denies the Armenian Genocide and presents the year 1915 as the year in which a common tragedy took place, writes News.am.
As reports the Turkish Sabah, two cities have already been created as duplicates of the cities of 1915 for the shootings.
Earlier, filmmaker Ismail Gunes had refused to announce the name of the film’s sponsor, but had stressed the fact that the film was going to be a low-budget film and that production would require a lot of costs. He had mentioned that there would be nearly 300 professional actors, some of which are famous actors.
The Turkish film director mentioned that he wasn’t trying to show that genocide happened or not, but simply the story of a caravan driver who was assigned to transfer 200 Armenians of Giresun to Aleppo, during which the caravan driver “dedicates himself” and defends the Armenians “who trusted him” from attacks of bandits.
He stressed that the main characters of the film will witness scenes of massacres at different sites during the transfer from Giresun to Aleppo.
The film director also mentioned that the film would be shown in 2016.
