Professor of the Department of Sociology at the University of Manitoba of Winnipeg Andrew Woolford was elected President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars for a two-year term during the opening ceremony of the 12th conference of the International Association of Genocide Scholars held on July 8, reports News.am.
During his speech, Woolford voiced hope that he would be able to meet the expectations of those who had elected him and dispel the doubts of those who hadn’t.
“I have always gained valuable knowledge from all these conferences. They have always served as a venue where there has been a spirit for academics and mutual understanding. I hope this conference is one of those conferences,” the newly elected President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars emphasized.
