Armenian musicians achieved great heights in France

France-based Armenian Mezzo-Soprano Mariam Sargsyan and pianist Artur Avanesov have won the Golden Orpeos Award of the French Academy of Lyrical Albums for their album entitled “Youth in the Distance”. This year, the Academy granted 31 awards, reports Cultural.am.

In an interview with Cultural.am, Artur Avanesov mentioned that Mariam Sargsyan’s album won the award in the Promising Young Performer category.

The album includes the songs of Shaporini and Sviridov that were written based on the texts of Alexander Blok. Most of the songs were recorded for the first time ever.

The album by Avanesov and French Soprano Fani Crue also won a Golden Opreos as the best project. The album features the songs by French composer Leo Delib.
