Catholicos of All Armenians receives pilgrims from the U.S. Eastern Diocese
On July 5, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received 46 pilgrims from the Boston area of the U.S. Eastern Diocese at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The pilgrims were accompanied by pastor of the St. Hakob Armenian Church of Watertown of the U.S. Eastern Diocese, Father Priest Arakel Aljalian and pastor of the St. Sahak Armenian Church of St. Paul, Minnesota, Father Priest Tadevos Barseghian.
Expressing gratitude to the Catholicos of All Armenians for the reception, the priests informed that this was the fifth of the pilgrimages to the Mother Homeland that provide Diaspora Armenian youth with the opportunity to become more familiar with the cherished national values, receive the blessing of His Holiness and return to their places of residence with enthusiasm.
During the meeting, the Supreme Patriarch gave his blessing to and praised the faithful Armenians visiting the spiritual center of all Armenians and emphasized that it was a great pleasure for him to see Armenian pilgrims visiting the Homeland and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to become aware of the Armenian national identity. The Catholicos of All Armenians also noted that it was important that the love for the homeland and the high sense of awareness of the nation had guided them to Mother Armenia.
On this occasion, His Holiness asked the Lord Almighty to help the pilgrims and wished that they always be happy so that they continue to educate with the same spirit of an Armenian and provide the representatives of young generations with an upbringing with strong faith.
