Catholicos Aram I addresses the people and authorities of Armenia

His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia has reflected on the protests against the energy price increase that have been taking place in Armenia over the past week.

As “Armenpress” reports, citing the press service of Antelias, the Supreme Patriarch particularly expressed his concern about the events that are taking place. “We don’t believe it’s right to keep silent in this situation. We are concerned. We are concerned because the reinforcement of our homeland, the strengthening of unity and the demand of the nation to give new impetus to the nation’s fight for its claims must become issues of national concern. Armenia is not just the land. Armenia is also and especially the people with statehood. We expect to see the leaders of our nation listen to the people of Armenia, as well as meet their needs, demands and expectations. We also expect our people to listen to the elected state officials’ concerns and approaches,” Catholicos Aram I said.

The Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia called on the people and the authorities to think about the supreme interests of the nation, the people and the state together. “Our nation must view the reinforcement of the homeland as something that is placed above everything else. What can we do? How can we help further strengthen the foundations of our homeland and improve the lives of our people? Everyone in the Armenian Diaspora must also be guided by that,” Catholicos Aram I emphasized.
