Diaspora Minister visits “Breath of Syrian-Armenian Culture in Yerevan” fair
June 25th marked the opening of the traditional “Breath of Syrian-Armenian Culture in Yerevan” fair, which showcases pastry, mementos, jewels and other handmade items and is organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues NGO and the Armenian Red Cross Society.
Among those attending the fair opened in the sector between Nalbandyan and Hanrapetutyun Streets of the Main Avenue was RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, who said the items were very unique and interesting. “We must do everything we can to help the Syrian-Armenians. They are creative and diligent, and we have a lot to learn from them. There is no need to label each other as an “Armenian from Armenia” or an “Armenian from Syria”. Armenians are born in different countries, but they are from Armenia,” RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan said.
General Secretary of the Armenian Red Cross Society Anna Yeghiazaryan mentioned that the Armenian Red Cross Society had to take part in solving the issues facing the Armenians having suffered as a result of the Syrian civil war. “The goal of this event is to help Syrian-Armenians gain profit so that they can live a dignified life in the homeland. We have provided them with the tools they need to start their businesses,” Anna Yeghiazaryan mentioned.
Let us add that the fair will end at 20:00.
