Syrian-Armenian fashion designer Kevork Shadoyan presented his Renaissance collection

On June 12, an exhibition showcasing the Renaissance collection of Syrian-Armenian fashion designer Kevork Shadoyan’s Shadoyan Fashion Couture House was held under the sponsorship of the RA Ministry of Diaspora. The event is part of the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
Among those attending the event were Deputy Speaker of the RA National Assembly Hermine Naghdalyan, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, 25 Members of the Parliament of the People’s Republic of China, as well as artists and guests.
By combining the components of Armenian national costumes, Kevork Shadoyan got a special mix of the old and the new and conveyed new life and air to the national costumes. The source of inspiration for the exhibition consisting of 23 women’s, 7 men’s and 8 children’s clothing are Armenian costumes showing the uniqueness of Armenian culture and the features of the nation’s temperament. The last sample shown at the exhibition was the clothing with the symbolic Forget-me-not flower.
The Renaissance collection received an award for Best Foreign Collection at the Estet Fashion Week event held in Moscow on April 18, 2015. The collection has also been showcased in Artsakh.
Established in 1999, Shadoyan Fashion Couture House designs Haute Couture daily clothing, as well as wedding and evening gowns, Pret a porter costumes, shirts, shoes, bags, accessories, necklaces, earrings and mementos. The collection will soon be showcased in France, New York and Australia as well.
