Nursing home opens in Aleppo

After the May 31 Holy Mass at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Aleppo, leader of the Diocese of Aleppo, His Grace, Father, Archbishop Shahan Sarkisian and clergymen headed towards the newly renovated nursing home of Aleppo to participate in the grand opening, reports Gandzasar Weekly.

The opening ceremony was followed by a prayer for the newly opened home. His Holiness expressed his appreciation, emphasized charity and kindness and mentioned that the people taking care of the poor must continue to serve God, the Church and the nation with more vigor. He added that this charity act was not only a contribution, but also showed the connection to the church and the recovery and revitalization of the Armenian nation, especially in a time of crisis.

The room was renovated and furbished by Sirvard Hamamdjian in memory of her late husband, who would also take care of the poor.
