Former Turkish police investigation division head arrested over Dink murder

Turkish police have arrested another person in relation to the case of editor of Turkey’s Agos Armenian Weekly Hrant Dink, who was murdered in the Shishli District of Istanbul in 2007.

Ermenihaber.am writes that, according to the Anadolu state news agency, a decision has been taken to arrest former head of the C Division of the Investigation Department of the Police Ali Fuat Yilmazer as a suspect in the case.

The state prosecutors of Istanbul have charged Yilmazer with “creating a group for a criminal purpose” and “supporting a planned murder”.

Earlier, Yilmazer had been interrogated on December 4, 2014. Currently, he has been called to another interrogation due to the revelation of new evidence.

This arrest marked the fifth arrest over Dink’s case.
