As far as the Armenians are concerned, the Turkish intelligence service is doing a good job
Turkish intelligence agents have identified 1,600 Armenian families in a small area alone.
The issue related to Islamized Armenians in Turkey is complicated inasmuch that several families consider themselves Turkish or Kurdish, live in peace, without feeling the need to revisit their national identity and without suspecting that they are considered Armenian in confidential documents, writes Armweeklynews.am.
Armenian presses didn’t cover an event that took place in 2011 and could have a serious impact on the solution to the issue of Islamized Armenians in Turkey. Today, it’s more than appropriate to reflect on that event.
Let’s recall a trial.
In September 2011, during the trial on ODA TV in the 16th Court for Heavy Crimes of Istanbul, journalist Sener Yalchni was charged with being handed 17 documents containing secret information by secret agent of the Turkish armed forces and intelligence service Kashif Kozinoglu. What interests us is not as much the journalist’s trial and the fact that Turkey’s confidential documents were submitted to the television station as much as the 84-page list of 1,600 incognito Armenian families unaware of their Armenian roots. This means that Turkey’s MIT intelligence service has been conducting a study in Turkey’s southeastern regions for years and has counted the Armenian families with diligence and precisely.
However, it should be stated that these data only refer to the Litche area of Diyarbakir region, meaning the Turkish MIT intelligence service has counted 1,600 Armenian families in one small area.
If we take into consideration the fact that there are 14 regions in Diyarbakir, then we need to change our notions of incognito and Islamized Armenians in Turkey. The Litche area is one of the smallest areas of Diyarbakir region. What will be the results of the study of the Turkish intelligence service in the current Kulp, Chnar, Ergeni and Silvan areas? One can’t even imagine.
