Victory Day in Omsk
The spirit of the Armenian nation has always helped the nation achieve victory. Brave Armenian soldiers haven’t spared their lives and the lives of their families and relatives for the sake of the homeland.
The Armenians also participated in the Great Patriotic War.
Citizens of Omsk had started celebrating Victory Day with various events dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the Victory since May 7.
On May 8, the mayor, the governor, high-ranking guests and representatives of different nationalities attended a major event called “Victory for All Times” at Arena Omsk. Among others attending the event were members of the Luys Armenian Cultural Center NGO of Omsk.
On May 9, 20,000 people participated in a parade called “The Battalion of Immortals” in Omsk. Out of the 20,000, 200 were Armenian citizens walking proudly with portraits of their fathers, grandfathers and other relatives to symbolize freedom, faith, hope and faith.
