Armenian Culture Days kick off in Germany with the title “In Action”

On May 8, the Days of Armenian Culture in Germany kicked off with the title “In Action” in Magdeburg, which is the capital city of Saxony-Anhalt. The cultural events are dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide and are held under the patronage of Minister of Culture and Enlightenment of Saxony-Anhalt Stefan Dorgerloh, reports the MFA press service.
On the day of the opening ceremony, for the first time ever, German conductor and professor Christfried Brodel’s orchestra performed the German versions of the psalms of Komitas readapted by Thomas Bukhholz.
Among those attending the event were members of the government and landtag of Saxony-Anhalt, public and political figures, as well as members of the local Armenian community and journalists.
President of the Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt Gerhard Misterfeld, Minister of Culture and Enlightenment Stefan Dorgerloh and RA Temporary Charge d’Affaires in Germany Ashot Smbatyan gave their welcome speeches.
The “In Action” Days of Armenian Culture will end on June 1 and will include screenings of Armenian films, exhibitions showcasing paintings by Armenian paintings and more.
On May 8-26, Armenian-German Culture Days are being held under the patronage of Deputy of the German Bundestag Martin Petzold at the Karlshorst Cultural Center of Lichtenberg.
On May 9, Naghash Choir of Yerevan gave a concert, which was attended by Martin Petzold, cultural affairs representative of Lichtenberg M. Goksh, as well as members of the German-Armenian community and journalists.
