Turkey recalls ambassador from Luxembourg over Armenian Genocide resolution

Turkey’s Foreign Ministry recalled ambassador from Luxembourg after the country’s parliament adopted a resolution to recognize the Armenian Genocide, News.am reports.

Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Thursday condemning the decision by Luxembourg parliament. The Ministry said they had expressed their position during a meeting with  Luxembourg Ambassador in Ankara and recalled ambassador Lehent Sahinkaya from Luxembourg

As reported earlier, Armenia welcomed the unanimous adoption of the resolution. “By adopting this resolution, Luxembourg added to the list of the countries, which have recognized the Armenian Genocide, making its important input in the eminent work of preventing new crimes against humanity,” Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said.
