According to “Hayern Aysor”, the following is posted on www.ankawa.com:

“On April 24, the Armenian Apostolic Church of Kerkuk commemorated the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide with the slogan “I Remember and Demand”.

The commemorative event included a Holy Mass attended by clergymen of sister churches, as well as the Christian members of Kerkuk City Council. In his sermon, priest of the Armenian church, Father Avetik Mardirosian urged the Iraqi government to recognize the Armenian Genocide.

The attendees listened to poetry devoted to the Armenian Genocide, and Masis Sarkisian gave a historical background of the Armenian Genocide.

Let us remind that the Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee of Iraq had prepared a special booklet that briefly presented the Armenians having experienced the genocide perpetrated in the Ottoman Empire.

The attendees were given pins symbolizing the Armenian Genocide.”
