Cavusoglu: “The Armenian community of America and its supporters are extremely active”
On April 18, Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu, who is on a three-day working visit to Washington at the invitation of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, visited the Turkish-American Center for Culture and Civilization in Maryland and was introduced to the current activities. The minister informed that the U.S. and Turkish Presidents would be participating in the opening of the center.
Afterwards, Cavusoglu had a meeting with representatives of the Muslim community of America. According to ermenihaber.am, as posted on Sabah newspaper’s website, during the meeting, the Turkish foreign minister talked about not only Turkey-U.S. relations, but also the active Armenian American community.
Without any grounds, Cavusoglu claimed that the Armenian community is leading an advocacy campaign against the Turks and Muslims in the United States of America. “The Armenian community and its supporters are extremely active in the United States, but our ambassador (Serdar Kilic) told me that you are supporting us, and I thank you for that.”
Cavusoglu invited the representatives of the Muslim community to join the “Peace and Solidarity” March that members of Turkish-American non-governmental organizations will be holding in Washington on April 24th.
