100 trees planted in Varna on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

On April 18, by the blessing of spiritual pastor of the St. Sargis Armenian Church of Varna, Father, Priest Bartughimeos Hakobyan, the Parish Council of the Church organized a tree planting ceremony dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, the office of the Parish Council of the St. Sargis Armenian Church of Varna reports.

Varna Municipality had allocated a private area right at the coast of the Black Sea. At 11:00, several Armenians of Varna started planting trees under the leadership of their spiritual pastor.

The Holy Father performed the “Blessing of the Garden”, blessed the seedlings and expressed gratitude to Varna Municipality for supporting their initiative. “With this tree planting ceremony, our community is once again eternalizing the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Almost every Armenian family of Varna has suffered losses during the Armenian Genocide, and the tree that each family plants will become evidence of that tragedy.”

Afterwards, Father Bartughimeos planted the first seedling.

The participants of the ceremony planted 100 trees on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

A monument to the victims of the Armenian Genocide will also be placed in the garden.
