Armenian Youth Federation represents the stories of those who migrated to the U.S. before or after 1915 and tells about Armenian Genocide survivors’ inventions that changed mankind, Tert.am reports citing Turkish website Demokrat Haber.
Raymond Damadian, the son of Vahan Damadian, a genocide survivor who moved to the U.S. in 1915, was born in New York. In 1969, he created the first MR (Magnetic Resonance) scanning machine.
Luther George Simjyan was born in 1905 in Antep and lost his family in 1915. After migrating to the U.S. in 1920, he became the inventor of numerous devices, including the ATM, and owner of over 200 patents.
Arthur H. Bulbulian was born in the 1900s and migrated to the U.S. in 1920. He is credited with the creation of the A-14 oxygen mask for the United States Army which was used in combat in World War II.
Asatour Sarafian (Oscar H. Banker) was born in 1895 in Kesaria. His family survived the Hamidian massacres. In 1914 migrated to the U.S. He patented a number of inventions with the automatic transmission for automobiles being the most important.
Alex Manoogian was born in 1901 in Izmir. In 1920 migrated to the U.S. He is the inventor of single handle faucet
