Georgian-Armenian Diocese joined the #2015RTAG. Recognize the Armenian Genocide campaign

On November 9, 2014, after the Sunday Divine Liturgy, “Hayartun” Center (led by Levon Chidilyan) and the Department for Youth Affairs of the Diocese (led by Valery Badalyan) organized a protest called “We Exist and We Will Exist” in the area near the Holy Etchmiadzin Church of the Georgian-Armenian Diocese in Tbilisi. In response to the initiative launched by the Armenian community of Marseilles ahead of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, the Georgian-Armenian Diocese joined the #2015RTAG. Recognize the Armenian Genocide campaign headed by Ani Stepanova and Richard Findigian, reports the press service of the Georgian-Armenian Diocese to “Hayern Aysor”.

The flashmob was held with the participation of the Ani Dance Ensemble and “Hayartun” Center’s Taron Dance Ensemble to the sounds of the “Kochari” dance performed by young Armenians dressed in white T-shirts. With their dances, the youth called on the civilized world to “Recognize the Armenian Genocide”. The organizer of the flashmob and artistic director was dance instructor Angelina Nazaryan-Kochyan.

Among those attending the flashmob were Prelate of the Georgian-Armenian Diocese, His Eminence, Father, Bishop Vazgen Mirzkhanyan; poet-translator Givi Shahnazar; public figure Samvel Aghekyan; clergymen and a large crowd of people. Member of the RA National Assembly Tatchat Vardapetyan and Head of the Division for the Caucasus Region of the Department of Armenian Communities of CIS countries at the RA Ministry of Diaspora joined the action a little later. After the dances, the participants passed out flyers with the words “#2015RTAG. Recognize the Armenian Genocide” on them. With the right for claims, the Georgian-Armenian Diocese called on the civilized world to recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide and joined the pan-Armenian campaign.
