“Go to Yerevan and don’t be afraid of the Turkish government!”-Political party leader’s call to the Prime Minister of the Netherlands

On March 2, leader of the “For Freedom” Party (PVV) of the Netherlands Geert Wilders visited the Armenian Apostolic Church in Almelo, as Manuk Mkrtchyan reports to Hayern Aysor from Almelo.

The political party has representatives in the upper and lower chambers of the Parliament of the Netherlands, as well as in the European Parliament.

Geert Wilders laid a wreath at the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex in Almelo, after which he gave a speech in front of hundreds of compatriots at the church hall.

In his speech, the leader of the political party mentioned that even though he was being hosted by the Armenian community for the first time, he already felt at home. Wilders referred to the Armenian Genocide as one of the dark pages in world history and mentioned that mankind must always remember and respect the memory of the innocent victims.

He also mentioned that this year marks the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide and that, on that occasion, not only the Dutch, but also all mankind must stand up and respect the memory of the 1.5 million innocent victims with a moment of silence on April 24th.

Wilders called on Prime Minister Mark Rutte “to show maximum respect” and visit Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia, along with the King on April 24th.

“Go there and don’t be afraid of the Turkish government!” Wilders said, addressing the Prime Minister of the Netherlands.
