Construction of the Holy Mother of God Cathedral of Stepanakert is in the final stage.

The crosses and bells of the cupolas of the church and belfry were solemnly placed yesterday.

According to Artsakhpress, the ceremony of consecration of the crosses and bells was officiated by Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan and attended by President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan, Speaker of the National Assembly Ashot Ghulyan, heads of government agencies, servicemen of a military unit of the Defense Army, citizens of Stepanakert and others.

The foundation for construction of the Holy Mother of God Cathedral, which is under construction through donations, was laid during a ceremony conducted by Catholicos of All Armenians on July 19, 2006. The 12-year construction is set to end on October 1^st, the day of the solemn ceremony of consecration of the church.
