The Estonian version of the book “Book of Tragedies” by Gregory of Narek is now also available in Armenia after being presented in Estonia in January of this year. The author of the Estonian version of the book is Estonian musician, filmmaker and screenwriter Peter Volkonsky, who discovered Gregory of Narek 40 years ago and was amazed at how the Armenians had such literature in the 10th century.
The translator studied the “Book of Tragedies” in modern Armenian, English and Russian for many years, and it took him 6 years to translate the whole book, writes yerkirmedia.am.
