Every year, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan meets with Armenia’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. On November 16, the Minister received 9-year-old Misha (Mikayel Grigoryan), who will be representing Armenia at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
“What is an honor for us is the fact that Misha will be representing his homeland at Eurovision. Glory and honor to his parents for bringing such a talented child to this world. I had the opportunity to listen to his performances when he was just four years old. He conveys love and energy and has an ability to understand the arts,” the Minister stated.
Hranush Hakobyan wished Misha success and informed him that all Armenians support him and await his victory.
When asked what Misha wishes to the world, the little singer said the most important thing for him is world peace and that he doesn’t want a war in any country.
Minister Hranush Hakobyan wished Misha success once again and donated a violin and the book “Armenian Musicians of the World”.
At the end of the meeting, Misha performed the songs “Karabakhi Horovel” and “Boomerang”.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 will be held for the fifteenth time with the motto “Shine Bright”. Armenia’s representative will be participating in the song contest along with representatives of 15 other countries, including Albania, Australia, Belarus, Cyprus, Ireland, Italy, Macedonia, Malta, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Serbia, Portugal and Georgia, which is hosting the contest.
Armenia has been participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since 2007. In 2010, Vladimir Arzumanyan’s victory provided Armenia with the opportunity to host the song contest in 2011.
The Armenian Delegation to Eurovision will leave for Tbilisi on November 19. Misha will perform the song “Boomerang” composed by Vahram Petrosyan and with lyrics by Avet Barseghyan, Davit Tserunyan and Arthur Aghekyan.
