Archie Galents visits RA Ministry of Diaspora

On July 7, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received painter, member of the Board of Trustees of Galents Cultural Foundation Archie Galents, who lives and works in Berlin, Moscow and Yerevan.
Greeting the Armenian artist, the Minister attached importance to his pro-national efforts aimed at preserving and disseminating Armenian culture within the community and in the Homeland. The Minister particularly touched upon the Armenian artist’s latest exhibitions that serve as a unique platform for helping Armenian artists become recognized in Europe.
The sides discussed issues on preservation of the Armenian identity in the Diaspora and the need for providing young Armenians with an Armenian education. They also touched upon revitalization of the partnership with the Ministry of Diaspora, as well as the recent exhibition of the artists of Artsakh held as part of the “What are YOU doing for Artsakh?” pan-Armenian movement and the assistance that the Union of German-Armenians has provided to Artsakh.
Archie Galents expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and mentioned that cultural life in Armenia is rich with many significant events. Galents stated that he will be opening his personal exhibition called “Timetable: Avoiding a Disaster” at the Modern Art Museum on July 7. The exhibition will run until July 16. “The project is an exhibition/installation in development. I will show the fruit of the work I have done for the past 13 years, as well as new works (object/”flags”) that I have particularly created for this exhibition, calling on creators of Armenia and the Diaspora to unite under the independent association that will provide the opportunity to create a unified platform for Armenian arts,” he added.
