Charles Aznavour says not reading and writing in Armenian hasn’t hindered his diplomatic activities

World famous singer Charles Aznavour is giving concerts in Madrid. In an interview with Spain’s El Mundo, Aznavour said he is singing and carrying out his diplomatic activities, writes Sputnik Արմենիա.
The singer confessed that not knowing Armenia’s national anthem and not reading or writing in Armenian doesn’t hinder his diplomatic activities. “It so happened that I became Armenia’s Ambassador to Switzerland and Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Headquarters,” Aznavour said.
Aznavour informed that he had received and accepted the offer to become a diplomat from Armenia’s incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan eight years ago.
