RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzhik Srapionyan delivered lecture for students of State Agricultural College of Armenia
On November 14, RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzhik Srapionyan delivered a lecture on “The Great Catastrophe of the Armenians and Saroyan” for students and professors of the State Agricultural College of Armenia at the invitation of the latter. The lecture was part of the series of commemorative events dedicated to renowned Western-Armenian public, religious and cultural figures entitled “Ahead of the Armenian Genocide Centennial”.
The speaker presented the destinies of Armenak and Taguhi Saroyan who settled in Fresno after the 1894-96 massacres and the life of their fourth son, William. The speaker also presented the great merit of the renowned writer and his place and role in Armenian and world literature.
After the lecture, Director of the StateAgriculturalCollege, Mr. Tovmasyan expressed gratitude to the RA Ministry of Diaspora for accepting the invitation and for the interesting lecture.
