2017 is the Year of Artsakh-Call of the RA Ministry of Diaspora to all Armenians

We learned many lessons and drew many conclusions after the Four-Day Artsakh War in April, and one of those lessons and conclusions was that the Armenian Diaspora is capable of coming together and standing united as one when the Homeland is in danger. This is what RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan said during her December 27 year-end press conference. “The People truly became a Nation during those days. We saw the strong will and potential of the Armenian Diaspora. The Ministry worked with over 100 Armenian communities during those days,” Hranush Hakobyan mentioned and set aside the moral, material and political support that the Armenian Diaspora provided in April and in the months that followed.

In October, during the 8th Pan-Armenian Forum of Journalists, the participating journalists came up with the idea of launching the “What are YOU doing for Karabakh?” pan-Armenian movement, which is gaining momentum. Several dozens of Armenian schools and community organizations have already joined the movement. According to the Minister, every Armenian needs to join the movement and do whatever he or she can to contribute to Artsakh’s recognition and economic development, the soldiers’ safety, the popularization of the culture of Artsakh, etc.

“In 2017, the Ministry of Diaspora will be dedicating most of its programs and events to Artsakh, and we call on all Armenians to declare the year 2017 as the Year of Artsakh as well,” Hranush Hakobyan said.

Let us remind that the “Hayern Aysor” electronic newspaper of the RA Ministry of Diaspora features a section called “What are YOU doing for Karabakh” featuring news about the participants of the movement and their new initiatives and interviews with the participants. You can also follow the movement by visiting the What Are You Doing For Karabakh? Facebook page.
