ISIS destroys oldest Christian monastery in Iraq

ISIS has destroyed the Saint Yeghia Monastery, one of the oldest Christian monasteries in Iraq, reports Associated Press, referring to photos taken from a satellite, according to sputnik.co.am.

The satellite photos show that the monastery has been completely destroyed.

The Saint Yeghia Monastery is located in northern Iraq and is on the border with Syria. The monastery was established in 595 by Yeghia, an Assyrian monk.
