Istanbul-Armenian oppositionist journalist Haiko Bagdat has been fired
Well-known Istanbul-Armenian oppositionist journalist and writer Haiko Bagdat has been fired from the Turkish Bugün TV station where he hosted his show called “Özgür İfade” (Free Speech). The journalist posted information on Twitter.
“I received a notification at home. I am fired from Bugün TV,” wrote Haiko Bagdat, reports ermenihaber.am. “This is the first time I am being fired. No, no, I am joking, I get fired every day.”
Just days ago, Haiko had posted a comment on his blog, stating that he would stop writing articles for a while. This Istanbul-Armenian journalist is known for his courage to speak out and his style of writing. He has stood out with his sharp articles devoted to Turkey’s domestic issues and his articles criticizing the government.
