Legrand and other artists to sing in commemoration of genocide victims under Aznavour’s sponsorship

A special concert commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide and the Jewish Holocaust will be held at the famous Foli Berger Hall in Paris under the patronage of legendary French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavour.

As reports “Armenpress”, citing Aznavour’s official Facebook page, the October 12 event is entitled “You, My Brother” (Toi mon frère) and will include performances by legendary composer and pianist Michel Legrand, pianist and singer Gilbert Montane, singer Enrico Masias, composer, singer and producer Andre Manoukian, dudukist Levon Minasian and others.

The creators of the event’s official website (toimonfrere.com) have presented the concert and have cited the words of Hitler (Who remembers the Armenian Genocide?). “This was the era when Hitler was preparing to perpetrate genocide against another nation, that is, the Jews. The horror of 1915 was repeated and happened to other nations in other corners of the globe.

A hundred years after the Armenian Genocide, artists of French, Jewish or Armenian descent or artists of other descent have come together to commemorate the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and the Jewish Holocaust.

“They will sing to commemorate all the victims of genocides,” as stated on the website of the event. Toimonfrere.com adds that the French artists will urge to never forget the events and prevent future genocides.
